Graphic 45 Once Upon a Springtime Layout

I love doing challenges and had been hunting challenges for Layouts.  I found this one and last week I posted my first layout which was featured on Frosted Designs .  This week the challenge is to follow the sketch below.  I knew right away that I wanted to use my Once Upon a Springtime stack from Graphic 45.  I love this paper and I finally used it for the first time to do this layout of my middle granddaughter Kenzie who is 8 months old.  I love the soft colors  and the cute bunnies and fairies.
Tomorrow I hope to make the second page as I always like to do double page layouts.

Two double page layouts- Nemo and Hello Kitty

Completed more layouts today following challenges using my Cricut.
The first is for Crazy About Cricut which is to do a project related to a family favorite movie.  While I was helping with new baby we watched an old favorite Finding Nemo.  My oldest granddaughter who is 18 months old likes to touch Nemo on the screen as they have a huge fish tank full of Nemos (clownfish).  This is her taking swimming lessons.  We always tell her to swim like Nemo.  Besides Best of Pixar and Micky Font I used Diamond  Stickles and a Pearl Pen.
The second double page layout I completed was for the Mag Challenge where you to were do a project using only page 65 from Hello Kitty.  Since I couldn't make a title with my Cricut I did it with a pearl pen and made it look like sky writing.

Spotlight Designer at FCCB, Featured layout at Lasting Memories and a new layout with Kate's ABC

I am so excited that today I am the Spotlighted Designer at Fantbulous Cricut ,  I am a new designer for their great blog and will post my first project tomorrow for the weekly challenge.  So if you would like to read a little more about me stop on by and then come back tomorrow to see the new challenge and my first post.
Also I recently found the blog  Lasting Memories which does layout challenges. I am always trying to get layouts done so  I entered my butterfly layout and  my layout was featured  yesterday .  Thanks Lasting Memories for the feature,
This is another layout I completed this weekend using Kate's ABC.  I adore this cart for layouts of my granddaughters.    Much of the paper is from the DCWV stack Whimsy except for background paper.  I am hoping to hit Joanns up today on their new sale  for a large stack of this as it is so cute for little girls,

I am entering this layout at
The Paper Variety Tic Tac ToeChallenge,.  I used  faux stitching, multi photo layout  and journal strips and also Cooking with Cricut challenge was to use a bunny,

Blue Fantasy Christmas Card with Damask Decor

This card was made on a 6 inch square base.  The snowflake is 4 layers and  was cut from Damask Decor page 69.  This cart has the most beautiful cuts for every occasion.   I used glitter paper ( 2 blues and white) and irridescent Origami paper for the layers.  The Paisley print is from a Christmas stack last year.   The ribbon was also from Michaels last year.  While looking for the ribbon I found this cute little snowflake garland .  So I glued it to the top of the ribbon and then added little dangly cuts from the bottom of the snowflake.  Then of course I added gems to bling out my snowflake.
I am entering this card in three challenges

Ice cream cone card- Indulge Yourself

I made a card similar to this a few weeks ago and wasn't real happy with it.  I decided to try it again and make some adjustments.  The cardstock is cut at 12 x 5 inches and scored at 4", 6 ", 8 " and 10 ".  I then folded it accordian style.  The ice cream cuts are from Sweet Treats page 31 and  were cut at 2 inches.  The cone at 4 ".   I used round gems to bling it out and tear drop gems for ice cream drops.  The pink and green tear drops were clear drops that I colored with Alcohol Inks to match the ice cream colors.  I then added a cherry on top of glittered paper.  The sentiment is Indulge Yourself.
I am entering this card in two challenges  Die Cuttin Divas Sweets card and BBTB2 Sweet Treats  ice cream cone,

Happy Trails Campin Critters Card

I didn't really think I needed Campin Critters when it came out but there are such darn cute critters on it.   So I gave in to the urge recently when I found it on sale at Michaels.  Besides Campin Critters I used the MS grass punch and a flower punch.  I cut the little flowers off to add some bright color. The piecing was really easy to do on this cart.  I am entering this in two challenges:
Scrappy Moms Stamps Design a project using Campin Critters  or Nifty Fifties  and  Cricut 360 Transportation Challenge

Embossing vellum flowers

This card was made for the CC challenge this week.  Over the past week designers have been sharing tips and techniques.  We were to chose one of these techniques.  I decided to go with embossing vellum  which I had never tried.  Suzanne Sergi made a beautiful vellum flower cone tree.  I used DCWV Linen and Lace Paper, Recollections vellum from Michaels, ribbon, lace and pearls.  The stamp is also from $1 section in Michaels.  I cut scallopped circles with Mother's Day Bouquet of both scrap cardstock and vellum at 2 1/2, 2, 1 1/2, and 1".  I then misted lightly with Glimmer Mist and crumpled carefully to form my flowers.   I love using the  vellum as it makes the flowers seem lighter and the embossing really helps them stand up and hold a shape.
Don' t you love the soft colors?
I am also entering this in the My Craft Spot challenge this week which was to use embossing.

While I had the Linen and Lace stack out I made 2 wedding cards I needed.  I cut two different hearts from Damask Decor.   With these cuts and the beautiful paper design I didn't do anymore as one of the cards has to be mailed overseas.

Hooked on challenges- 3 cards

I will admit I am totally addicted to challenges.  Doing these challenges  really gives me a great card stash and helps me get to know my cartridges.  Today I have three cards I completed.
This card was made using Mickey and Friends  for the Paper issues- Life is Sweet Linking Party  and Cooking with Cricut challenge which was to make a card with a lollipop.
This card is for the Cricutless Challenge at More than Favors
The third card is for the Birthday Sundaes challenge to use a photo as inspiration.
I used the blue and white and sand colors from the picture.

Jolly Holiday Penguin Layout

I love it when I can make a layout for a challenge and get some pages done.  The challenge this week at BBTB2 was to use the Penguin with the umbrella from the Jolly Holidays cart.  I love this cart and knew right away I wanted to do a layout with blue and white. I wanted to give the illusion that the penguins were floating on the snowflakes.    I also added the NOEL banner from Jolly Holidays and snowflakes from Winter Lace to accent the snowflakes on the background paper.  The paper, ribbon and embellishments are from last Christmas.  This also fits the challenge at Amanda's Crafts and More  to make a Christmas layout in July.

BBQ and Smores Layout for Sweet Sassy Design Team

Hello everyone from Suzanne at Cricutcraftingrammy and thanks for joining us.  I am so happy to be here sharing on Bobbi Jo's Design Team at Sweet Sassy Diva again.   This week  we are making  a BBQ project using 3 different cartridges and bright colors.  I used Camping Out, Three Birds and Block Party.  When our family and neighbor friends BBQ in the summer we almost always make smores.  In the back of my mind I remember seeing a project in one of my scrapbook magazines that chalked the Smores letters to look like smores and to used cotton balls for the marshmellows.  So I did my best to lift this idea for my layout.  If I had been true to some of my family I would have made the marshmellows black but I like them toasty and it looks more appetizing.  I embossed the trees. the photo mats and the birds with my Cuttlebug.  I chalked the edges and used googly eyes.
Recipe for Layout
Cut from Three Birds
BBQ bird  5 inches
Smore bird 4 inches
Smores title I used Smore Great Moments cut at 6.5 and used s to make Smores
Smore branch cut 2 times at 10.25
Cut from Block Party
BBQ word 4 inches
Frame 5.75 inches
Sign (top only)  9.25 inches
Cut from Campout
Campfire 3 inches
trees 4 inches
Thanks again for joining us at Sweet Sassy Diva and please come back each day to join us.

Butterfly layout for DCWV and Lasting Memories challenges

Several weeks ago I saw that DCWV was having a layout contest. I had never entered a DCWV contest.  I had really thought the deadline was over since I have been gone for almost two weeks with the arrival of my newest grand daughter.  Well anyway since the contest is still open I knew right away I wanted to use one of my all time favorite stacks by DCWV Mariposa.  ( I actually bought two so I have plenty).  Recently we went to a special summer display of butterflies  and got some great pictures so I knew this would be perfect.  For the layout you were to use this  sketch and of course DCWV paper.  I used both the Mariposa Design stack and matching cardstock stack.   I tried to really take advantage of the beautiful butterflies on the paper and cut them to show them off.  Remember if you click on the pictures they will enlarge.
Here is page 1.
Page 2

I also used MS punches for the butterfly border and the smaller butterflies to give added dimension.  I am also entering this in a new challenge I found called Lasting Memories.  This week their challenge for your layout was It's All About the Title.

Challenge Layout of grand daughter using grid pattern and buttons

I love participating in challenges that help me get some layouts done of my darling grand daughters.  This was done using a grid.  This was perfect for these pictures as the blocks tell the story of how sweet Mackenzie is growing and I didn't need a lot of extra stuff.  I also love to use buttons on my baby layouts and these cute little pink flowers were perfect to go with these flowered pages.  The flowers I cut out with an EK success punch weren't standing out so I used my MS center punch.  I cut out in a brighter gre
en and used the ring it formed as well as the scalloped cut to help accent the flowers and buttons. I added Wonder Thread to the button holes and  some lace trim and pearls.
Entered in The Paper Variety- do a layout using a grid or rainbow colors and Frosted Design- using buttons

Wow lots of great projects yesterday! Thanks for all your wonderful comments.  My project for today is a layout I did using the cart Nifty Fifties.  I got the idea for this layout  as so many of my friends are now going into their 60's and were born in the 50's.  I myself will join the 60's club in 2 years.   The cuts in the 50's are a lot of fun.

My project for today is a  dollhouse book or a square –around mini album and is made from 4 sheets of full size scrapbook paper.  The fun thing is you can set it out and tie it open to   view all the little rooms.  Once you learn how to make these they are quick to put together and can be made for holidays, birthdays, births or any other event. I used Tags, Bags, Sweet Treats and Birthday Bash Cricut carts to decorate.   Remember you can click on the pictures to enlarge them.    Here is a link I found online of the directions for making the book.
