Lasting Memories #62 "Cherish" someone or something you love

It's time for another Lasting Memories layout challenge.  I am so enjoying being a Guest Designer with this team of creative ladies.   This week we were asked to use the word Cherish and given a great multi photo sketch for our starting off point.
For those of you that don't know I have been blessed with three precious granddaughters in 18 months so that keeps my photo pile quite large.  I always do double layouts of everything.  One for me and one for my daughters.  When we are all together I make three layouts.
I got the title Cherish little things in my head and knew I wanted to start with the foot pic of my littlest granddaughter Brittany.  When I did a cut search I actually found Cherish and The little things in life on the new Sophisticated Cricut cartridge.  So I was all set and didn't need to weld letters together.
For both layouts I used  baby  paper from a box  someone gave me.  The fist was done in pinks and green  and I used lace, ribbon and pearl flower embellishments.

The second one I did in yellow and greens and used flowers.
By the way the picture on the right is my oldest granddaughter Katie checking out
her new sister with daddy.
Here is the great multi photo sketch you can use as a starting off point.
I hope you will join us this week.  We would love to see your layouts of what you cherish.  You have until Saturday November 4th to enter.  Come on and take the challenge!

K-K-K- Katie ladybug layout

Made this double page layout using an assortment of pictures of my oldest granddaughter Katie.
We call her Katiebug and I am always singing K-K-K- Katie to her so I used that for the title.  I used my Gypsy to weld the ladybug shadow from Doodlecharms together for the title.  The letters are from Tear Drop.  I used the MS ladybug Punch around the page and red ribbon with black dots that I bought at Michaels. The paper was from last year and I added some shiny ladybug dimensional stickers to each letter.
Entering this in the Cooking it up with Katie- recipe use red ribbon in a row.

Lasting Memories Bling layout for weekly challenge

This week the challenge at Lasting Memories was to bling out your layout.  I can't wait to see the DT's layouts this week.  I made a double page layout of my sweet eldest granddaughter Katie. She will be 2 in January.   I had three assorted pics of her I wanted to scrap.  The title which is a song we always sing to her is done in the Teardrop Cricut font- K-K-K- Katie.  I then added flowers and lots of bling.
The frame was made with a MS Punch Around the Page set.

Closeup of bling and flowers
The second page.

Here are the two pages together.  Katie has the curliest hair so for the matching page
I used the title Curly Top.  I added more flowers and bling.
I hope you will join us this week for the layout challenge.  Doing the challenges is a great way to keep up with your scrap booking, challenge yourself and have a lot of fun.

Happy Beef Day

This week at Frosted Designs it is a color challenge, to use orange, brown, purple, and green.  I decided to make this humorous Thanksgiving card.  I cut the turkey from Simply Charmed and then made two rosettes for the feathers in green and purple.  I typed the sentiment Happy Beef Day on the computer.  I added ribbon, three orange buttons threaded with twine and gems for the eyes.

Hello Kitty Halloween layout

Bitten by the Bug 2 is having a great challenge this week.  The challenge is to make a project with  the Hello Kitty cat or another cat if you do not have this cart.  I knew right away I wanted to make a Halloween layout for the cutie patootie pictures I plan to get on Halloween of my 3 grand daughters.  I cut out the two Halloween kittys- one is a cat and one a witch.  I also cut out the bat.  The title is also from Hello Kitty.  I added some beaded bat ribbon from the title and the too cute spider from Mini Monsters.   The webs are from October 31st.  The glittered pumpkin was a Jolee's embellishment I had in my stash.  I also used my MS spider web punch.  For the photo mats I used purple cardstock, some candy paper and some pumpkin doilies I got at the Dollar Tree.  Really happy with the way it came out.

Purple and Green Layout

Completed this layout today and really happy with the way it came together.
The stamp shape in middle cut from Sentimentals at 11 inch and cut in 1/2
Used MS Deep cut Flower punch
MS All Occasion for shape on far right cut in 1/2
Flowers from Flower shop cut at 2 1/2, 2 and 2 " and center cut at 1 "
Since this is a layout I do not want flowers to thick.
I used three layers and pinched ends to make them more dimensional.
I used a leaf and stem ribbon that I love for flowers and added gems to centers.  Also used Diamond Stickles  on centers and some ribbon I had in my stash.

Let's go Fly a Kite with Elmo birthday card

I made this card today using Sesame Street Seasons and a Peachy Keen face stamp.  This is for the Peachy Keen Challenge this week which is design a project with Wind and Whimsy.  I did a search on my cut search and found this cute cut with Elmo and the kite.  Used a $1 stamp I got at Michaels that says capture this moment to your heart and then inside Happy Birthday. I embossed Elmo, used Glossy Accents, Smooch ink, white gel pen on the stitching and the PK eyes, and added three little buttons to match the paper colors.  Ribbon was from a package I got this week.

Thanks for looking and Happy Craftin!

Folded Treat Box for Sweet Sassy Design Team

So excited to find out the project I did last week for Sweet Sassy Diva wreath challenge was highlighted in the Cricut Chirp this week.  Here is the link if you missed it.   This week at  Sweet Sassy Diva  we were asked to make a Halloween treat goody bag or gift of some kind.  Well here is my treat box.  I love making these boxes and have made them for all sorts of occasions.  They are perfect to fit with candy or other goodies.  I often fill them with goodies from the $1 bins or stores.
So here is the finished product.
Please stop by and leave a comment at SSD's blog.  I would really appreciate it.

Directions:
You start out with a 12 x 12 piece of  good cardstock.
You then score or fold at 4 inches and 8 inches both ways so you end up with 9 squares. Make good creases with a bone folder or ruler and then open up.
Next score each corner at a diagonal to the center square corners.  See picture.  Make a good crease on these corners.  First I fold them out and then in so they have  good crease.
Next you cut 18 square at 3.75 x 3.75. I used scraps from other Halloween projects but you can also use  paper and make a pattern.  It's up to you.
Five of the squares you will glue to squares on one side.  Four squares you will cut diagonally in 1/2 to do corners.  keep paper from overlapping fold lines.
Turn over and do the same on the other side.
Now you are ready to punch a hole at each corner.  Do not punch to close to edge as it will tear.  I used my Crop a dile but you can also use a regular punch.
You are now ready to decorate the side if you wish with die cuts, ribbon, etc.  I used a pumpkin from Pumpkin Carvings cut at 3 inches.  The witch 2.75, the ghost 3 inches and the spider 3 inches were cut from Happy Hauntings.  I also used some trim to decorate around the edges.  Make sure you put trim on outside top and  face diecuts down towards center square.
For this next step take thin ribbon and thread through the holes and tie.  I leave about 3 inches between each hole when I pull it together.  Tie a knot and trim.
Here are the four sides of the box.
The last step is to add ribbon.  Wired ribbon works the best but I have used regular ribbon.  I cut each piece to 9 inches and tied a single knot.  There are three pieces on each side.  If you use wired ribbon you can then fluff it up.  The wired ribbon I used is from the Dollar Tree.

Now you are ready to fill your box with treats, candy or whatever you wish.  Hope you enjoyed my post and tutorial. Please drop by Sweet Sassy Diva  this week to see what other great treats the Design Team comes up with.
I am also entering this in the More than Favors-"treats"challenge and the Frosted Designs Fancy trims challenge.

   I love followers and comments.
