We're Off to see the Wizard Blog Hop

We're Off to See the Wizard the wonderful Wizard of Oz to hopefully get the Tin Man a heart, the Lion courage, and the Scarecrow a brain! But there's the poppy fields to beware of as you could get very sleepy! The Wicked Witch but we know she's afraid of water. The flying monkeys . . . just totally freaky looking!!!! You're probably still dizzy from the spinning whirling twirling house and watching all those things passing by like a nightmare expecially that Miss Gulch on her bicycle! Poor Toto hiding in the basket, but can you blame him? Don't pay any attention to the man behind the curtain as he knows not what he speaks! And then there are the delightful munchkins that sing 3 octives highly than humanly possible. I almost forgot the good witch Glinda - how could I forget her --- she was just too sugary sweet to my standards but as a Good Witch goes, she was the best, but why didn't she just tell Dorothy she had the power to return all along and wait until the end - geesh! And then only bad witches are ugly --- come on now! Its the Merry Old Land of Oz! I have a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore Toto. . . .

We're paying homage to the Wizard of Oz today with our blog hop! So, grab your beverage of choice and those ruby red slippers of yours, click them twice and repeat after me - "there's no place like home, there's no place like home"!

For Blog Candy we have a 7 - piece paper assortment of 12 x 12 pieces of paper by Paper House Productions

We have a great line-up for you today and you should have arrived from
Lisa - http://handmadewithlove-lisa.blogspot.com/. If not, or you just dropped in to visit today, we don't want you to miss a single story of e travels of our "characters" from start to finish and would love for you to begin at the beginning of our hop -
Here is my double page layout I did using Graphic 45 of my middle granddaughter Kenzie. Here little dress was a blue and white check so I thought it would be cute with Dorothy.
Then I added pics of her in her new little playhouse for there is no place like home.
For this page I used a picture of her dumping all my quilling papers all over the floor and cut out the words- There's a cyclone coming. The poppies are fussy cutted and pop dotted.

This is another project I did with the Wizard of Oz Graphic 45 paper this last month. If you haven't see this you can check it out here.

As every good story, it has a beginning and a happily ever after - Dorothy went home and all was well with the world and Dorothy told Auntie Em - there's no place like home!!!!!! AWWWW how sweet! Hope you enjoyed my project and I must send you along your way to
Inga- http://mommahobbit.blogspot.com/ and a place beyond the rainbow. Our complete line-up in case you get lost along the way due to those darn flying monkeys:

Minnie birthday card and malware is gone

Thanks to those of you who let me know that a Malware warning was coming up on my blog yesterday.  It is now safe for you to look at my card I posted yesterday for the CWC weekly challenge May flowers.

I was asked to make a Minnie card for a friend of mine for her niece's birthday next week.  I came up with this design using twine for the lollipop and the banner for the
Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge Birthday and string.
Minnie was cut from Disney and Friends at 5 inches and the lollipop was from the same cart cut at 3 inches. I then glued twine to make the lollipop.  The paper is Sweet Treats from DCWV.  Ribbon is from Michaels.
The tiny banner was cut from the background paper and I wrote "Alyssa" on it.
Stamp from Michaels $1 bin.
Inside another $1 stamp and some stickers for her name and scraps for lollipop swirls.
Also entering this in the Die Cuttin Divas- Anything Goes Challenge

CWC May Flowers

Wow where did May go?  I can't believe its already the end of May and in a few days June will be here.  It's time for another great challenge at Cooking With Cricut.  This week the challenge is May Flowers.  I knew right away I wanted to use my new Spring Cottage Cricut cart.
The first time I cut the pieces out I made them way too big for the idea I had so I ended up using them for  a layout of my granddaughters. If you would like to see this project click here.  Layout with same cuts
So I redid the cuts and came out with this card.
Here is the card folded up.
Here is the card open.
Recipe:
The card is 5 x 12 cardstock folded at 3", 6", 8", 10" and 11".
The gazebo is cut at 4 inches, the gate at 2 1/2 inches and the fence at 1 inch.
The stamp was from Michaels and I cut it apart so there would be a piece on each layer.
I added some tiny gingham ribbon to match the gingham paper.
Used a MS punch for the vine and another for the flowers.
I punched out the border strips and then fussy cut the other sides.

I hope you enjoyed my card for this week.
So before May is gone tap into your creativeness and join us for the May Flowers Challenge at Cooking with Cricut.  You have one week to complete your project and link it up.  I am looking forward to seeing what you all create.  Happy craftin!

and the second for Bitten by the Bug 2 "Garden Theme"

Happy Memorial day to you all and hope you have had a safe and fun weekend.  Today at Bitten by the Bug 2 the Challenge is "Garden."  You can use any cartridge and any cut for this challenge as long as it fits the "Garden"theme.
For my double layout I used Spring Cottage and Nursery Rhymes for the title.

These are pictures of my three granddaughters.
The title is All things grow with love.
I used a wide MS punch for the white lace edge.  Ribbon from my stash and a MS vine punch.
Flowers, bird, nest, branch, gazebo and gate all from Spring Cottage.
EK Success punch on mat corners

Here is the second side.  Cottage is embossed and Stickles added for flowers.

FCCB Memorial Day challenge

I will have two posts today.
The first for Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog "Memorial Day"
and the second for Bitten by the Bug 2 "Garden Theme"

Happy Memorial Day to you all and I hope you had a fun and safe weekend.  Today at FCCB the challenge is Memorial Day- Make a project using the color red plus anything that makes you think of Memorial Day (ie. a flag, military symbol, or poppy).

For my project I used A Child's Year , Plantin Schoolbook and Straight from the Nest.
I am sorry I am at my daughters and do not have the book I write all my info in so cannot give you the exact  cut sizes.
Memorial Day weekend always seems to flag the beginning of Summer so I entitled my layout
It's Summer.
Then  I made all these cut cuts from A Child's Year and these cute little pinwheels.  The pinwheels are fastened with brads so as to allow them to move.
Paper is from K and Company and Quick Quotes.

I hope you will join us this week for the FCCB challenge.  We always love for you to join us for these great challenges.

Lasting Memories Leaving Footprints DT post

This week at Lasting Memories the challenge is called "Leaving Footprints Behind." I  looked through my pictures waiting to be scrapped and found these cute pics of my youngest granddaughter learning to crawl.  Her mom would get her to crawl by using her cell phone as an enticement as you can see in the first picture.
I used the New Arrival feet page 110 cut at 1 1/2 inches
The crawling baby is from Everyday Paper Doll page 29 cut at 5 inches
The cell phone is from Going Places page 94 cut at 2 inches.
(I made it pink and white to match mommy's phone.)
I used this sketch from Creative Scrappers for my layout and I will be entering the page in their challenge.
This is the awesome layout sketch for this week at Lasting Memories.  You can use this sketch for added inspiration as long as it keeps with the theme this week.

We are being hosted by Digi Darla this week. I hope you will all join us this week for the challenge.  We love to see your linked up projects.  They are always such an inspiration.

My DCW#V stack-a-holic challenge entries for May

For my sketch I used all DCWV papers from Linens and Lace.
I love the vintage look of this paper although I had a hard time getting it to show in a picture.
I added pale pink seam binding, letters from $1 section Joanns,
and crocheted flowers from the $1 section at Michaels.
This is the page that will go with it.

This is the card sketch for May
Here is my card using this sketch.
For this card I used the DCWV Royal Garden Mat Stack
The feather was cut from the Cricut cart Art Nouveau at 3.5 inches
This is the inside of the card where I can put a sentiment or write later.

My LO for Child's Play- Are you my Mother" challenge

I made this layout for another great challenge at Child's Play called Are You My Mother?
You were to use the P.D. Eastman book as your inspiration.
I used Paper Pups Cricut cartridge for all my cuts.
The tired dog, smiley dog face, words relax and smile were cut at 2 inches.
Hug was cut at 2.5 inches.
Ribbon and mat paper were from my stash.

Bitten by the Bug Kitchen Challenge

Hello everyone!  It's time for another awesome BBTB2 challenge.  Julia asked us to do a "Kitchen Challenge".  You can create a card, layout or 3 D project using anything you find in your kitchen and
any Cricut cartridge.

For my project I made a card using the From My Kitchen Cricut cart.
The apron is from page 51.
The recipe card can be found on several pages of the From My Kitchen Cart.
The phrase What's Cookin?  is from Three Birds on Parade page 55.
Many Thanks on the inside comes from the Phrases cart page 22.
The background paper is from TPC studio Spice Rack and the blue paper is DCWV Kitchen stack.  The other papers are from my stash.
All the cuts are inked with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo.
The larger rick rack is from Joanns.
The teeny tiny yellow rick rack is from my mom's sewing box so is over 50 years old.
When I was little my mom and grandma always wore aprons they made and they almost always had rick rack on them.
Inside of card
I hope you will leave a comment and check out what all the other BBTB2 designers have created.  Then get out your Cricut carts and join us for the challenge.  You have two weeks to complete your project and we would love to have you join in.  Happy Craftin!
