Faith, Hope and Love for the Lasting Memories Faith Challenge

We are starting a new set of challenges today over at Lasting Memories.  Our theme for June is Amusing AntecdoteA and today is  -Faith.Amusing Anecdotes
Faith  it does not make things easy it makes them possible Luke 1:37

For my page I chose to scrapbook pictures of my sweet grandson Micah when he was dedicated by his family to God at their church.  It was a very sweet and touching ceremony
based in our faith in God.  Being a parent is hard work but with God we will raise our children up in the ways they should follow.
I used old Quick Quotes paper and a Quick Quotes quote  I added branches and butterflies to the quote at top and bottom punched from Martha Stewart punches.
The title was cut from Silhouette America and then I decided to add more tiny butterflies around the title symbolizing the transformation we can have with faith in Christ.

I used the current sketch from My Creative Sketches  for this page and will be linking it up there.

Check out the Lasting Memories blog and see the amazing creations from the other designers. I hope you create with us on our challenges this month.  There will be a new challenge each Sunday and you have all month to complete them.  So happy craftin!

Dream Wish and Believe at Disneyland

Created this page for a challenge at Sketch N Scrap .  I am working on my Disney pages from last weekend.  This is the beginning of the 60th anniversary of Disneyland.  I actually went to Disneyland with my family the month it first opened so it is exciting to me.  The kickoff  was a 24 hour party which we were unable to get into due to the crowds but we did spend the next few days having a blast and checking out all the great decorations, food, parades and fun stuff.
This page is done with Simple Stories Enchanted paper which was perfect for the dressed up castle.
The flowers are punched with Stampin up Punches our of glitter paper.
The edges are inked with Quick Quotes Powder Puff ink Blue Lagoon.
This is my family that I go to Disney with.  My daughter, son in law
and grandaughter Kenzie 4 and grandson Micah 2.

Sketch N Scrap is having a birthday challenge every day all month.

Naptime

Not too many baby pictures left to scrapbook anymore, but still have a few of grandson Micah.
He is now 2 1/2 and a busy climbing little monkey.  So fun to go back and look at these sweet little pics and his tiny little feet and hands.  We love our three sweet granddaughters like crazy
but it is fun to get to scrap in blue.

My Favorite Work of Art

This was such a fun sketch and layout to put together.  My layouts almost always have the grandkids in them but I wanted to do something special with this picture.  It  is of my oldest daughter and son in law on a date night at The Painted Cabaret.  It's a fun place to go where you do a painting and their choice was Jack Skellington since they are Disney fans.
For the paper I used Simple Stories from a mixed stack.
The paint palette, paint brush and title came from Silhouette America.
The hearts I punched with a Martha Stewart border punch.
I used the punch outs and saved the punched border for another project.
I really liked the way this came out.

Fabulous haircut layout

My grandkids Kenzie and Micah have always gotten there hair cuts by my friend Liz.
She has gotten super busy now that she has her realtor license so I took them to the hair salon.
Of course they thought this was really special and loved the chairs and all
I used paper from a little 99 cent paper kit I got at Tuesday morning. I like the colors and little paper embellishments and stickers.  The polaroid frames were from Silhouette America.  The flowers were old ones from my stash.  The title is done with Tim Holtz chipboard letters in different fonts and colored with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Inks.
I am entering this is the Let's Scrap Special Challenge for National Scrapbooking Day.
Here is the delightful sketch that gives you great space for pictures.

Lasting Memories Life Affirmations Anything Goes Challenge

Today is such a great challenge at Lasting Memories.  For this week the challenge theme is Anything Goes in relationship to a Life Affirmation Theme.
I created this double page layout of my youngest daughter, son in law and their two daughters.
To me this represents Love Family Time Memories and Happiness.

I found this Affirmations poster online that gives you lots of ideas for themes.
WE would love to see you join us for this challenge and all the other challenges this month.

I used We are Family by Lori Whitlock for Echo Park
which was great paper for the theme.
The only other things I used were Bazzil and a Martha Stewart punch of people holding hands which I thought was perfect for this page.

Don't forget to check out the other designers layouts at Lasting Memories.

Sharing a Disney layout as I am off to Disneyland

We are on the way to Disneyland today for the 60th Birthday Opening and All Night Party.  We will be there for three days and I can't wait to get lots of pics of all the new things.
So with Disney in mind I thought I would post a layout I did from our New Years trip.
A friend had this awesome layout page and she cut one out for me for my firework pics.

Joy

I had time to complete one more layout before I get ready for my three day
weekend to Disney with my family.
I am so happy with the way this one came out.
I used old Quick Quotes paper Julie Je"taime and I  love the vibrant colors.
I also love how you can often mix and match papers form different lines of Quick Quotes.  Plus I really like the way the flowers came out because of the cool paper.
The flowers are called 3 D cone flowers on Silhouette America.  You cut two of each and then glue them in a cone and layer.
The papers are inked in Quick Quotes Powder Puff Dark Purple Ink.
The title is from a Joy to the World title from Silhouette
but I only used the Joy part to go with the quote.
Here is a close up of the flowers.
The pictures are of my granddaughters Katie 5 and Brittany 3 1/2.

I am linking this up to  Blog Quick Quotes -
Add a flower or a butterfly
I added Silhouette flowers and punched butterflies.
I am also entering at  Die Cuttin Divas- Water a Flower -
must include flower on project.
and  Scrap Our Stash Sketch 26 with handmade flowers
I used this sketch created by Guest Designer Lanette Erickson
The Quick Quotes paper had circles on it which reminded me of this sketch and then I added flowers and a quote from Quick Quotes for the journaling.

My Boy

This was a fun sketch from My Scraps N More #105.
I printed out 4 pics of my grandson Micah at Moms day at school.
My daughter was out of state with hubbies graduation so I got to go.
I made 2 x 3 pics with my Photomate printer.
That way I could use the photo space but get four photos on it.
I cut out arrows and the title My Boy from Silhouette America.
The heart border is a Martha Stewart punch.
I like the tags under the picture spot for journaling.
Here is the sketch.

Mommy''s Boy Insta Love

This month at Sketch N Scrap they have been having daily challenges for their Third Birthday.
This is Heather's Challenge for
Sketch n Scrap Use 3 pictures May 18
These are two older pics with mommy in his carrier and then a recent one
in the center of him sitting on her shoulders.
The title Mommy's Boy is sfrom Silhouette America.  I love the Chevron paper and cut some scraps to add to the phrase People we Love.....
Here is the sketch Heather provided.

Sunshine for mommy

The minute I saw this sketch at Sketch n Scrap #80 it just made me feel happy and sunny.
So when I searched through my paper I found this really cute paper with these oh so cute sons on it.
I also had some yellow doilies I bought recently at Michaels and a Project life card that said Sunshine on it.  The flowers were from mys tash.
The arrows I cut out with my Silhouette.
The pictures are my grandkids Kenzie and Micah giving mommy the presents they made at school for Mother's Day.  She was gone at hubby's graduation so they were so excited to give her the presents when she got home.

Here is the awesome sketch. from Sketch n Scrap #80
For the second page I used the same paper, doilies and flowers.  I printed out 2 x 3 pictures of Spa day with my granddaughter.  I was the lucky one who got to go in place of mom.  We had food, a hand massage, got my toes painted and presents.  It was so fun and I was so lucky to be a part of this.

Funny Snap shots done with an app

I fell in love with this sketch from My Scraps N More  #106  the minute I saw it.  I knew exactly what paper and pictures I wanted to use.
The paper is Bella Blvd and I bought a bunch of it last Summer on a Shop Hop.  This was the perfect layout sketch for the paper.
The pictures are some my daughters made on an app on their phones
called You Cam Makeup-Makeover Studio.
You can change the hair and makeup, etc.  It's a lot of fun.  I printed 2 x 3 pics with my Picturemate Printer and they were the perfect size for the page.
Left to right- Are grandaughters Brittany and Kenzie with light colored long hair.  They have long dark hair.
My daughter in the middle as Maleficent, Elsa and Anna.
Then on the right is grandaughter Kenzie as mini Elsa, curly haired girl and me with a new hair do.
I cut out the filmstrips from Silhouette America and the rest is from the paper.
Here is the awesome sketch from My Scraps N More  #106

I am also entering this at Use Your Stuff Challenge #184
which is to use Chevrons.  That wasn't hard to do as I love Chevrons and buy paper with Chevrons alot so have lots in my stash.

Places we Go

When I first saw this sketch at Sketches in Thyme #147 week 1 I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it.  I decided I wanted to do a starburst design which I have never done so I did a search.
I found a great tutorial by Joy at Obsessed with Scrapbooking.
I followed the directions and used paper that I though blended well together.
I then added the title Places We Go from Silhouette America and the ribbon from my stash.
I stapled the ribbon with my Tim Holtz Tiny stapler
I am really excited the way it turned out and am definitely doing starburst again.
I like the way they focus the eye to the pictures.

Doing What we Love

I created this layout of my two granddaughers Katie and Brittany
with a sketch from Stuck ?!
The paper is Imaginisce and I got it at Tuesday Morning.

Here is the sketch from Stuck?!
The circles swipes were done using Quick Quotes ink and the chipboard dragonflies and
butterflies were from the $1 section awhile back,  I thought the natural color of the chipboard went well with the layout colors.

I am also entering this in Leah's Challenge
at  Sketch N Scrap.  Leah challenged us to use 3 Project life cards
which I did.

Overloaded on cookies

Sketch N Scrap has been having daily challenges this month in honor of their Third birthay.  I have been trying to incorporate as many challenges as I can in my projects this month.  For this page I used a sketch from Susan .
This is a funny picture my daughter got of my granddaughter Kenzie while she was eating Oreo cookies.  She is rolling her eyes and looks absolutely "drunk" with sugar.  She is such a comedian.
The paper was from a stack I got at Tuesday Morning which has the prettiest pinks, teals and yellows.

Here is the sketch Susan asked us to use and it was a twisted challenge.
The TWIST - well it's SNS's THIRD Birthday so
USE 3 Colours - I used pink, yellow and teal
and/or USE 3 different media -  paper, chipboard, and gems
and/or sets of 3 things - I used 3 sets of 3 3s... The punched out circles
I didn't have a chipboard 0 so used a circle in my title as part of one group of 3.
This was really a fun challenge and there is still time to join so check it out.

Helping dad with tools layout

This is a layout I created using DCWV Guys Rule stack.  The pictures are of my gandson and one with granddaughter helping dad around the house with odd jobs.  He has all his play Black and Decker tools out.
I am linking this up to the Stick it Down Double layout challenge.  I love that they have a single sketch, card sketch and double sketch each month.  You could actually even get 7  pictures on this double layout if you wanted or even 8.

I am also linking to the Stuck on U Sketches Die Cut Challenge
Home Sweet Home .  I cut out the house and tools from Silhouette America.
