Lasting Memories new challenge- Mixed Media with a BOLD title

Wow I totally flaked on getting my post up for the new Lasting Memories challenge today.
That should have told me that it was going to be one of those days when I didn't get much done.
I seemed to work in slow motion all day.
Anyway on to the new challenge at Lasting Memories.  We are starting the September challenges with the Mixed Media with a Bold title.
For my page I used some mixed media paper I got in a package from Canvas Corp at Tuesday Morning.  I love the alligator embossed paper and the wrinkled ink paper.  For the title I used Tim Holtz Grunge board letters of different fonts and inked with Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink.
The flower border is a Martha Stewart punch.
Pictures are of two of my granddaughters Katie and Brittany having so much fun on a tire swing.
Please check out the other layouts that the Design team created to inspire you.  I hope you will join us for the challenges this month.  You have all month to link up the challenges which are revealed each Sunday at Lasting Memories.   We would love to see your creations.

By train or by trolly

My grandson loves to ride the trolly at California Adventura and the trains at Disneyland.
I used Simple Stories Say Cheese for these pages.

The first page is our first ride on the trolly.  One of the CM's gave us a red car trolley ticket which he was thrilled with.  I love the picture of us all looking out the window.
This is the Casey Jones train.  I cut the train and track from Silhouette America.  The title I made using the Walt font.  Notice in the right corner my daughter, another lady and I were all wearing our new Vans Disney tennies so we had to get a pic of them- Villans, Princesses and Mermaid.

"Back to school" board

School is back in session and I made both of my daughters a Back to School board using black canvases.  We used black paper to write the answers so it can be used again and again.
Here is the board.
My oldest granddaughter Katie who is 5 and going to Kindergarten.
Her sister Brittany who is 4 and in Preschool.
Next is Kenzie  who is 4 and in Transitional K.
And her brother Micah who is 2 and in Preschool.
Of course he thought it was fun to spin the board around while I was trying to
take photos.

Single page fun layouts

I usually do double page layout but for these pictures I did single pages.
The first is a collage of pictures with granddaughter Kenzie who is 4.
These are some fun pics of Kenzie and brother Micah 2 sleeping.
The title Naps and fix everything is from Silhouette America.

And when they are no sleeping they are my precious monkeys
I used some 3 D stickers from my stash.

Going to a crop to scrap my Disney side

I love attending crops at my local scrapbook store.  I also teach classes there.  I have a locker so I decided to make it easy I would keep my extra Silhouette and all my Disney paper, etc in there.  That way all I have to do is grab my pictures and a few little things and off I go to crop.  It really helps me keep focused too when I am scrapping one theme.
For this page I used the Mouse Treats title and Mickey layered ice cream from PPBN Designs
A quick page with embellishments from my stash.

These are pics of my granddaughter and oldest daughter when we went to see Cinderella.
The paper is Princess from Simple Stories.

More Simple Stories paper but this time it's Say Cheese

Pick a starburst or sunburst for Lasting Memories Challenge

This week the challenge at Lasting Memories is to
Create a page with a starburst or sunburst
I wasn't sure what I was going to do but started flipping through my pictures.
I found these cute pics of my Superhero, my grandson Micah.
The starburst of different types, the title Superhero and the Pow and Zap all come from Silhouette America.  The paper is some space paper I had in my stash.
Very different from all the princess layouts I am usually doing of the granddaughters.
I inked some of the letters and starburst with white gel ink.
So come on over to Lasting Memories and check out what the other designers created and join us for a fun challenge at Lasting Memories.

Time for a new sketch challenge at Let's Scrap

Summer is winding down and the grandkids are headed back to school.  The oldest Katie on the far right is entering Kindergarten and is so excited.  Kenzie the blondie is starting Transitional Kindergarten, as she has a late birthday.  The other two Brittany and Micah will be in preschool.
We love to get the kids together as much as possible and I used pics from a fun day together for the 8/15 sketch challenge for Let's Scrap.
This week the layout is so fun with places for big and little pictures which I love.
The paper I have had in my stash and I believe is Echo Park.
Here is the great sketch and you have until the end of the month to join us in the challenge.
Also please check out the blog at Let's Scrap to check out all the Design Team members take on this sketch.  They inspire me so much with all their creativity.  So join us for some fun!

Some Vinyl projects

My daughter and son in law went to the Advocare convention last week in Texas.  Before they left I helped them decorate their water bottles, ipad cases, etc.  Hers in pink.  His in blue.
I also did a smaller version of the Advocare sign I made my son in law awhile back for my daughter.

Lasting Memories Sketch challenge and add anything with Wings on your layout

This weekend finds me taking care of two of my grandkids for three days.  Mom and dad got a weekend away for a conference in Texas so I am staying with the kiddos.  We only live two blocks apart so we go back and forth.  We have been keeping busy and today their cousins are coming to visit for a bit so they are excited about that as am I.
The last time they were together was for my granddaughter's graduation from preschool.  Hard to believe Katie (my oldest grandchild) is 5 and on her way to Kindergarten this next week.
She is so excited.  Grammy went to visit and we did some school shopping last week so she is all set to go.

So for this week's challenge at Lasting Memories it is
LM 254 - related to the Sky High theme...

SKETCH challenge AND add anything with WINGS onto your layout.
This is the sketch
For my layout I used pictures from Katie's graduation and some adorable paper I had in a little kit.
We love owls in our family!!!!!
I love the picture of all the grands with Papa and I

Here are some more pictures of the party after the graduation.
They had a nice picnic and the kids got to play.
I love the bottom left pic of the three younger grands watching their big cousin graduate.

I hope you will check out the post at Lasting Memories and see what the other designers have created.  Remember you still have time to do last week's challenge as all challenges are due at the end of the month.
This month we have a
Prize package for August from our very own Tina

"Sky High" at Lasting Memories

I am sure we are all noticing that Summer is passing very quickly.  I usually have my layouts done for DT challenges way way ahead.  I also thought when  Summer break started for my daughter three weeks ago and I was watching the grandkids I would have a lot more time to scrapbook.  Instead things have been crazy busy and I have been tackling house projects I needed to do.

So what I am saying is August caught up with me and I am out of town visiting my other two precious grandchildren for a few days before they starts school.

So for the challenge today I am  reposting a layout I did over a month ago that fits the theme for the Lasting Memories challenge today "Sky High".  The paper I used was Graphic 45 which I love.  I used ink, burlap, punches, fish netting, and real shells and starfish.

The picture is of my sweet granddaughter Brittany flying her kite at the beach.

Please join us for the weekly challenges at Lasting Memories.  There is a new challenge every Sunday and you have the entire month to complete all the challenges.  We love seeing your amazing creations.

Let's Scrap - Trip to La Purisima

It's time for another great sketch challenge at Let's Scrap ,
;This awesome sketch has tons of space for pictures big and little and we all have lots of those.
For my layout I used pictures of two of my grandkids at La Purisima Mission in Lompoc, California.  I am actually there visiting them this weekend before school starts again.

A few weeks ago there was a big fire that actually put the mission in danger.  The mission was built in the 1820's and luckily the firemen were not only able to keep the fire from the mission but the homes around it as well.

I used vintage looking paper from my stash and an old metal watch, lock and key.
The clay sheep which I used for the title was actually a photo.
Let's Scrap  has two challenges each month for you to participate in.  One on the 1st and one on the 15th so that gives you plenty of time to create your layouts and join in.  Make sure to check out the layouts on the blog that all the amazing DT members have created to inspire you.
