Lasting Memories a "New Beginning" with Daisies

This is our last challenge with the theme Anything Goes   "New Beginnings"

I decided to do a layout with my oldest granddaughter Katie in her new
Daisy uniform for Girl Scouts.  The paper I had in my stash and I found the little girl graphic and title online.  The daisy cutout and ladybug was something I had made for a card exchange.  I had kept the extras and this was perfect for the page.  Plus we call her Katiebug.
The pictures are of her vest that I was able to go get with her and sew on her badges.
Her guide book and her badges she won for the pumpkin carving contest.

I hope you will check out what the other designers have created and join in
with us at Lasting Memroies.

So many books so little time

I belong to the most amazing book club.  We get so immersed in the books,  We dress up for meetings,  Eat food from the countries in the story and play games and have little gifts.  In December we read Little Women and we were asked to each bring a present that was hand made by us.

It was so much fun seeing all the handmade goodies from all the wonderfully talented ladies.
There were knitted and crocheted things, homemade jams and bread, quilted baby blanket, and all sorts of other things.  For my handmade project I modpodged a black frame with old book pages and then cut out this cute little girl and quote from Silhouette America.  I cut it from paper and then modpodged it to the board.

QT Patootie Mermaid card from Paper Crafting World

The minute I saw this cute little mermaid from Paper Crafting World I knew I had to maker her for my granddaughter's birthday.  She loves mermaids and even says she is one part of the time.
The file I used is a Digital Printable but it is also available as a cut file.
I cut her out and inked the edges with blue ink.
She is pop dotted
I love the cute graphics and bright colors.
I used some old old paper and ribbon I had in my stash and then I typed out the words I wanted for the inside sentiment.
I added some cute little gems I got at the Michaels section.

Check out all the great projects on the blog as well as the great files at Paper Crafting World.

My heart is wherever you are

This is the last present I wanted to share that I created for my
dear friend Beth for Christmas this year.
Beth and her family live in Californian where the youngest son is in High School.
This year she has two kids off to college.
Her oldest son is in Texas and her daughter is at graduate school at Harvard this year.
Right now her husband works in California but he also is an officer in the Naval Reserves.
His new duty station is in Hawaii.
Since they are all over and  travelig back and forth I got this idea to make this sign.
I used a title and states with hearts cut out from Silhouette America.
The sign is a metal one with a chalkboard finish I collected on sale sometime..
It was perfect for this project.
I told her when her other son goes to college we will peel a heart and add his state.  LOL
Needless to say she was thrilled.

Disney Christmas presents

I made for my daughter and son in law for Christmas.  We go to Disneyland usually around once a month and they have their entire staircase full of Disney memorabilia and pins.
I used a file from a Silhouette Disney group and then added Pin collectin to it as we love to do that.  They were so excited.

I also completed these two Malaeficent cups with vinyl.
One is for me and one for my daughter as we both love Maleficent.

I lucked out and had just enough green to create these so guess I need to get busy
and order some more.
It's always fun to create items that are personal for your family and friends.

Card exchange Valentines

Every other month I meet with a group of ladies and we crop and exchange cards.  This month I made valentine cards from some vintage prints I had.
It's really fun seeing what everyone makes and having lots of cards on hand.

Lasting Memories challenge- New Beginnings (First Day of School)

Here it is Sunday and time for another challenge at Lasting Memories.  We are still on the Theme New Beginnings. This week the focus is a New Life Event such as Marriage, Birth, Moving, New Job, New School, house, etc.
For my layout I used pics from the fist day of school when my 2nd granddaughter Kenzie started Transitional Kindergarten.  The hands, letters and title were cut from Silhouette America.  The paper was from my stash and the ribbon I believe from Michaels.
Check out the layouts the other designers at Lasting Memories created and join us this month for the challenges.
Happy Craftin!

Time for another great sketch challenge at Let's Scrap

Wasn't it just Christmas and the New Year and now its already the middle of January.
The good thing is it is time for another great sketch challenge at Let's Scrap.
For my layout I used some Christmas paper I got last year for these pics of my grandson performing in his preschool Christmas program.  Those little ones are just so darn cute!!!!

The paper I used was perfect with the jingle all the way graphics and song paper.
I cut out  a pic of him jumping as that was his favorite part.

He performed two nights so there are pics of him in two different plaid shirts.
And on a side note the cutie patootie to the right of him is his little girlfriend.
They always greet each other with a great big  hug when they see each others at school.

So here is the amazing sketch by Michelle.  I wasn't too sure at first what I would do but there really are a lot of things you can do with it so its a fun fun challenge.  Check out what the other designers did at Let's Scrap.   Then jump on in and join us in the challenge.  You have till the end of the month to link up your projects.

Lasting Memories Challenge- My new beginning is Bible Journaling

The theme at Lasting Memories this month is "New Beginnings."  This week it is Anything Goes with the theme.  I rarely scrapbook about myself but  I chose
to create a layout about the new thing I am doing
and that is Bible Journaling.
I found several Facebook sites and blogs about people creating in special bibles so I stated stalking and then ordered my bible and jumped right in.
I can't get enough of it now and I love studying His word and then creating on the pages.
I also decopaged my plain black bible cover with Prima paper.
Here are just a few of the pages I have made.
Believe me you can use all sorts of supplies from your scrapbooking supplies.
You don't have to be an artist either.  You can trace or use mostly words.
I am so excited about this that I am not only going to teach an introduction class at the scrapbook store but also at my church.

Check out what all the designers created this week and last week.  You have till the end of the month to link up.  Have fun and join in at  Lasting Memories.

Birthday Girl layout for Paper Crafting World

I almost forgot to write up my post today.  I think my Southern California brain is in shock from actually having rain the past two days.  I had forgotten what is was like to use an umbrella.  LOL
So anyway on with my post for Paper Crafting World today.
I created a double page layout using the Birthday Girl Bear set.
I just love this little bear and her adorable dress.
The file from Paper Crafting World also includes the title and a little bear with a cupcake.
For the paper I used
Best Creations Cupcake Paper which is from a couple years ago.
The pictures are of my third granddaughter's birthday last year.
We had a great time at the park.
Here is a closeup of the cute little bear.

Sign I made for son in law for Christmas

I created this sign for my son in law for Christmas using vinyl and a wood base from Michaels.
The file from Silhouette originally said a little bit of Coffee but my son in law sells Spark which is an Advocare product so I changed it for him.
He was so thrilled with it!

Let's Scrap into the New Year 2016

Happy New Year to all of you as we start 2016.  As the holidays wind down I have tons of pictures to scrap and I am sure you do too.  Michele Van Wyk our lovely designer at Let's Scrap has come up with another great layout with room for lots of pictures.
I am sure we all have photos we need to get on layouts.
For this page I decided to use some scrapbook pages of my granddaughter at her recent ballet recital.  She is really loving taking classes.
I used some paper from my stash and followed the sketch.
All the photos were originally 4 x 6 but I was able to cut them to fit the various sizes.
The banner was done with a punch and the ballet title and shoes were cut from Silhouette America.
I apologize that the left side photo quality is terrible.  It is pale pink like the right side but
the light faded it out. I didn't realize until it was too late to correct.

I would love to have you check out what the other designers have created at Let's Scrap.  You will get so many great ideas.  Then get out those photos and play along.  We would love to see your creations.  You have till the 14th to link up and then we have a new sketch for you on the 15th.
Happy Craftin and Happy 2016.
